Within moments of turning into the road, civilization feels another world away. Time seems to slow down. Night is approaching, rain is falling, mist is rolling, the primeval forest oppressive and unnerving. Steep canyons and creek beds fall below the treacherous, narrow roadside. Nighttime beasts – a deadly snake, a vicious owl, a mob of kangaroos – awaken and threaten them. But it is not only the wildlife that imperils the students. Evil lurks on Dark Mountain Road, both human and supernatural.
