Christopher Nolan made a surprise appearance at the Paramount Comic-Con panel this past weekend, introduced by his Interstellar star Matthew McConaughey. He didn’t reveal much about the movie to absolutely no one’s surprise, but he did show off the new trailer for the film, footage that has now arrived online courtesy of the film’s sparkly official site. Check it out below.

Interstellar is set in a time when Earth has severely depleted its resources, particularly food. McConaughey’s Cooper is a trained pilot, technician and engineer, but there’s not much call for those in a world where the basics are in such short supply.

But a visionary (Michael Caine) has had an idea to send a brave crew beyond the solar system through a recently discovered wormhole to find something – or somewhere – that could be our salvation.

The new trailer offers a little more footage – particularly some fresh looks at McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and more out in space. And the personal costs the crew will have to endure. If anything, the mystery is helping to fuel our interest. With Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, Casey Affleck, Topher Grace, David Oyelowo, Wes Bentley and Matt Damon along for the ride, Interstellar will be out on November 7.
