Based on a true events, Twist of Fate is a film/tv series development about two brothers Charlie and Harold Allen who draw straws to decide who will enlist to fight in WW1 and whom will remain in their small Australian mining town to support their mother, Lizzie and the struggling community
Charlie, an athletic risk taker, draws a long straw. He is an accomplished rider and dreams of joining the Australian Light Horse. Quieter and more circumspect Harold draws the short straw on purpose, realising the town needs him.
The unique project narrative is why this isn’t just a story of battlefield conflict and struggle. It is a story of the equal struggle for survival of those left behind.
